All reservations require a $50 non refundable and non transferable deposit for each room booked. However, if you cancel your reservation 7 days PRIOR to your check in date your $50 deposit will be left on your account as a deposit for your next reservation. HOWEVER, all deposits for major holidays are always non refundable and non transferable. If you cancel your reservation LESS than 7 days prior to your check in date your deposit is also non refundable and non transferable. We understand that everyone has a good reason for canceling, but this is our policy. Please do not ask for a refund. We have this policy because we have saved this suite for your pet. If you cancel without giving us at least 7 days notice we most likely will not be able to book that suite at such a late date because people on the waiting list have already made other arrangements .
Major Holidays: All deposits for reservations that include a major holiday will be NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. Your deposit will NOT be refundable or transferable for any reason. Please do not make a reservation until you are sure you need it.
ATTENTION – You are committed to paying for the number of nights you actually book unless you change your dates 7 days prior to your check in date. We have saved the room for your pet and turned other pets away. Being considerate and not over booking your stay will help prevent a rate increase.
There is a 3 night minimum for all major holidays, except for the Christmas holiday which is a 5 night minimum.
You are charged for boarding on Sundays/Holidays even if you check out on that day. We are open for convenience only from 4 pm until 6 pm.
Long Term Boarding
If your pet is boarding for more than one week, we will charge your credit card weekly at the end of each week.
All vaccinations must be current for Rabies, Distemper Parvo and Bordetella (dogs only). Please have your vet fax us (919 383-5150) this information. Although all pets are required to have an up-to-date Bordetella vaccination, he/she is still at risk of acquiring Canine Cough. There is no vaccine for complete protection against Canine Cough. The truth is they can be vaccinated for 3 of the 13 known components of this complex disease. By vaccinating for these 3 diseases about 90% of the cases of Canine Cough are eliminated. However, it is possible for a vaccinated dog to get Canine Cough. We do recommend you get the Bordetella vaccination at least 48 hours before checking in.
All dogs must have a negative fecal. And don’t forget the flea and tick prevention, even during winter months.
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CANINE INFLUENZA VACCINE. PLEASE TALK TO YOUR VET ABOUT THIS VACCINE.
Cats are required to have a Rabies vaccination and a Feline Distemper.
All pets must wear a collar that clearly identifies his or her first and last name and phone number. If your pet does not have a collar, you can purchase a collar and/or name tag when you arrive at Sunny Acres. We do not allow metal chains, prongs, or spikes.
We supply a Kuranda bed and a soft fleece blanket. No need to bring your pet’s bed. You may bring treats and no more than 2 toys. All items must be labeled with your pet’s first and last name in permanent marker. Please do NOT bring towels, tennis balls (or other, smaller ball toys), anything valuable to you or your pet, or large crates. We do our best to make sure that all of your pet’s belongings return home, but we are not responsible for any lost items.
Extra Charges for Medications
The fee for administering regular medications is $2 per pet per day. The fee for any intravenous/subcutaneous injections, multi-step protocols and medications that must be given at specific times is $5 per day per pet. All medication needs to be in a clearly marked container (preferably the original container) with the following information:

Aggressive Dog Policy-Safety is our number one concern for both your pet and our staff. Sunny Acres Pet Resort reserves the right to decline service to any animals we deem aggressive. Aggression is defined as the threat of harm to individuals, including, but not limited to, snarling, snapping, growling, barking, lunging or biting. All staff must be able to approach, touch, feed, leash, walk and physically assess your pet’s health in order to provide the best care possible.
